Webinar | Modern methods of construction

The Government's Construction Playbook emphasises the need to build smarter and more sustainable, endorsing Modern Methods of Construction (MMC) as a way to deliver significant improvements in productivity, efficiency, safety and quality for both the construction industry and public sector.

Currently. the UK’s built environment – from concrete, brick and steel to heating and insulation – contributes an enormous 25% to the country’s greenhouse gas emissions. MMC helps the construction sector to sector transform its methods to meet the UK’s net zero targets and enable people to reduce spiralling heating bills.

Public Sector Executive would like to invite you to an exclusive webinar in partnership with WSP and Rider Levett Bucknall to take a deeper look into the benefits of MMC with real examples of how MMC has helped public sector reduce the upfront carbon of their projects.

The event is chaired by Barrington Billings, Chair of Manningham Housing Association and he will be joined by Cllr David Meller, Shadow Cabinet Member for Economy and Regeneration at Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council, Dan Hagan, Director and Modern Methods of Construction Lead for Property & Buildings at WSP, Richard Quarry, Partner at RLB and Louise Richardson, Chair of the Planning Committee at Blaby District Council.

Ep 51. Diversity, equality and representation with Stuart Love, Chief Executive of Westminster City Council

It is the role of local government leaders to make the decisions that will best deliver for the communities that they represent. That much is obvious.

How can they do this, however, if they are not accurately representative of those very communities?

Great strides have been made in ensuring that everyone, regardless of their ethnicity, race, gender, or social class is represented in some way within local government. Chief Executive of Westminster City Council Stuart Love joins host Dan Benn to talk about why this work is important, the different work that is being done in Westminster, and how his background influences his stance on equality and diversity.
