PSE365: Transforming the Future of Public Procurement

The response to the pandemic saw public procurement reaching £357bn in 2021/22, an increase of 17% on the previous year, with innovation proving to be critical to that response resulting in the Ventilator Challenges Programme delivering over 15,000 ventilators.

However, with the new procurement regulations, how can public sector leaders learn from procurement during the pandemic to support recovery and build back better?

In this panel discussion gain insight into what leaders need to navigate the challenges ahead, lessons learned from the pandemic to support recovery and the impact of new procurement regulation.

Making up the panel were:

  • Matthew Rees, Director - Commercial Hub, National Audit Office (NAO)
  • Oluremi Aremu, Head of Legal and Procurement Service, Conventry City Council
  • Peter Schofield, Head of Integrated Commissioning & Procurement, Manchester City Council
  • Lindsay Maguire, Head of Procurement Reform, Cabinet Office

The panel discussion is available to watch on demand here and YouTube
