A landmark regeneration project is set to reshape Feltham town centre, as Hounslow Council, the Ministry of Defence and the Greater London Authority announce plans to unlock one of West London’s largest brownfield sites.
The MOD Feltham site will be the centrepiece of Hounslow’s ‘Future Feltham’ masterplan, delivering 3,000 new homes, including genuinely affordable housing, alongside 9,200 jobs, new community and leisure facilities, and improved transport and public realm.
The partnership will combine national, regional and local expertise to accelerate development, with construction expected to begin in 2028. The site will adopt the trailblazer approach to public sector land development, announced earlier this year.
Deputy Mayor of London for Housing and Residential Development, Tom Copley, commented:
“We’re pleased and proud to collaborate with MOD and the London Borough of Hounslow to help bring forward this site in Feltham which will enable the delivery of much needed homes, as well as new jobs and community facilities for Londoners. This trailblazer project is an opportunity to show what can be achieved when central, regional and local government work hand in hand to build a better, fairer, more prosperous London for everyone.”
Originally acquired during the First World War, the MOD is now relocating operations and releasing the land for housing-led regeneration. The scheme will reconnect Feltham to surrounding areas through a new network of streets and transport links, creating a vibrant, inclusive neighbourhood.
Key features of the regeneration plan include:
- 3,000 new homes, including affordable housing
- 9,200 jobs across commercial, creative and skills sectors
- New community, leisure and green spaces
- Enhanced connectivity and public realm improvements
Cllr Shantanu Rajawat, Hounslow Council Leader, also said:
“Delivering growth and delivering for business is about more than profit. It’s about better affordable homes, sustainable and inclusive neighbourhoods, and crucially investing in our people and places, to help residents thrive. This trailblazing partnership is a bold step forward together we will turn a closed-off site into a place that works for local people, Londoners, and ensures a long-lasting legacy for our Borough.”

The Masterplan Refresh is already underway, with the Feltham MOD site acting as the catalyst for wider transformation across the borough.
