Phase Three Public Sector Low Carbon Skills Fund launched by Salix Finance

Salix Finance have announced the launch of Phase Three Public Sector Low Carbon Skills Fund (LCSF), in partnership with the Department for Business, Energy, Industrial Strategy which has made up to £14 million of funding.

Phase Three LCSF is there to provide grants for organisations in the public sector to get expert advice and skills to create or improve an existing heat decarbonisation plan setting out the steps and proposed timeline for the decarbonising their buildings.

Annie Shepperd OBE, Chief Executive of Salix Finance, said:

“This announcement paves the way for public sector organisations to lead the way in reducing their carbon footprint within the UK.

Salix Finance is wasting no time in opening the application for these funds and we have a great team who are ready to support all public sector organisations who want to be part of this scheme.”

All applicants who are awarded funding must conclude their heat decarbonisation plans before the 31st March 2023 and Salix Finance will be discussing the Phase Three Low Carbon Skills Fund in a series of webinars, that can be booked here

Business and Energy Minister Lord Callanan:

“Thanks to the £2.5 billion we have made available, through the Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme, we are saving public sector organisations and taxpayers millions of pounds each year by making our buildings cheaper and more efficient to heat.

These fund grants will build on this, allowing public bodies to better access the specialist skills and expertise they need to decarbonise heating in their buildings and to deliver future projects to bring down the cost of energy bills around the country.”
