Blackhawk Network becomes Crown Commercial Service Supplier for payment solutions

Blackhawk Network Europe, the global market leader in payments, rewards and incentives, has been successful in joining the Crown Commercial Service’s (CCS) Payment Solutions supplier under the new CCS framework RM6248.

Joining the framework will allow public sector organisations to seamlessly access Blackhawk Network’s prepaid and voucher solutions, knowing they meet the procurement criteria.

In the public and third sector alone, Blackhawk Network has supported over 2,000 schools, local authorities and charities across the UK with their fund disbursement programmes. After being named as a CCS Voucher Payments framework supplier in 2021, Blackhawk Network has continued to build on its public sector offering.

This investment in public sector payments forms part of the Blackhawk Network Payments for Good initiative, developed to help government organisations, charities and non-profits distribute critical funding to those in need. Drawing on its 22-year global experience in prepaid cards, gift cards & digital eCodes, Blackhawk Network is very proud to be delivering alternative payments to people and communities that are struggling across the UK.

The appointment came after a competitive tender process undertaken by CCS and will be in place for an initial three years with the option to extend the framework by a further one year .

Chris Ronald, Managing Director at Blackhawk Network, said: “We have been working tirelessly with Crown Commercial Service over the past two years to distribute much needed support to those who really need help, using our vouchers and e-codes. Being awarded supplier status on the CCS Payments Solutions framework continues to underpin our growing partnership with CCS and our continued commitment to the public sector. Despite the fantastic work we have done with CCS, more than a million additional people are expected to slip into poverty over the next year. We look forward to delivering timely and crucial financial relief using our alternative payment solutions, prepaid cards, vouchers and e-codes, to people in need up and down the country.”

Jan Culshaw, Financial Services Category Lead said: “Crown Commercial Service undertook a robust and compliant procurement for RM6248 Payment Solutions 2 commercial agreement and awarded to successful participating suppliers, including Blackhawk Network EMEA. We look forward to working with all suppliers and helping the public sector access these important services."
