With an estimated 5.6 million people employed across the public sector, the focus on net zero strategies and sustainable policy has never been more important, and although great strides have and continue to transform public services to become more sustainable, there is still more to be done to support the race to zero in water efficiency and consumption.
Efficient water management offers local authorities the opportunity to make a difference in driving efficiency, sustainability and lowering costs in the long-term. With a recent study revealing that 70% of those working within the public sector take more care of their water use at home than at work, the challenge is more than reducing water waste, it’s about changing attitudes to water use.
The PSE365 virtual event on 9 September 2021 we heard from industry leaders on how the public sector can take vital steps towards efficient water management to support the race to net zero by 2050.
