West Yorkshire Combined Authority has confirmed the appointment of a new director, as the mayor looks to strengthen her senior leadership team.
Tim Taylor will come into the role of Director of Transport Services later on this month, with this position seeing him taking control of customer services, M-card payment systems, concessionary travel and information.
Touching on Tim’s appointment, West Yorkshire Mayor Tracy Brabin said:
“I’m delighted that Tim will be joining our senior team at such an exciting time, with plans for mass transit and bus reform underway.
“Tim’s extensive experience and knowledge will be invaluable in helping deliver my key pledges on transport, as we continue building a better-connected region that works for all.”
Currently working at South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority as Director of Public Transport Operations, Tim has led on a number of programmes, including the introduction of concessions for young people, and programmes that have brought bus network reform. Alongside this, Tim also led the public transport response to the Covid-19 pandemic in South Yorkshire, with this leading to a wealth of experience across strategic planning and organisational change.
West Yorkshire Combined Authority’s Executive Director of Transport, Simon Warburton, also commented:
“Tim’s expertise will be crucial in our ambition to improve the transport network in West Yorkshire.
“I’m looking forward to working closely together to deliver for communities and business across the region.”
This appointment comes against the backdrop of West Yorkshire’s plans to reintroduce trams to Leeds and Bradford.
