With many public sector employees working at a desk in an office all day, this can make it difficult for them to get their recommended 150 minutes of exercise each week, but CSSC Sports & Leisure aims to change that.
Part funded by the Cabinet Office, CSSC is a not-for-profit organisation who provide sports, leisure offers, member benefits and discounts to over 150,000 members working within the Civil Service and public sector.
Their vision is to inspire members to explore new ways to be active while maintaining and developing their physical and mental health and this is where there Active Wellbeing Campaign comes in.
Working in partnership with CSHR, the weeklong initiative encourages participants to implement a healthy balanced lifestyle and this year’s was designed to encourage healthier habits and increase wellbeing and productivity across Civil Service teams.
In this episode of Public Sector Voices, we spoke to Head of Sport and Physical Activity at CSSC, Daisy Penford about the campaign.
Explaining, Ms Penford said:
“It was a campaign that needed to attract or cater for those that are most inactive and really don’t do very much activity at all and trying to get people thinking about making those small changes to their lifestyle.”
