Foehn achieves UK Government G-Cloud 10 Certification

Foehn's Rafael Cortes tells PSE about the company's latest triumph and discusses how the G-Cloud can shape the digital marketplace in the future.

It has been confirmed by the Crown Commercial Services that Foehn is included as a supplier in the category of ‘Cloud hosting, software and support’ on the G-Cloud 10 procurement framework, part of the Government’s Digital Marketplace. G-Cloud gives central government, local councils, NHS Trusts and other public-sector bodies access to approved suppliers of cloud-based services via an online platform, offering greater choice and more competitive pricing.

This is the sixth year in succession that Foehn has been listed as a G-Cloud supplier, emphasising the company’s commitment to delivering cloud phone and contact centre systems to public sector organisations that need affordable, feature-rich, simple-to-use solutions.

With the release of its latest cloud phone system, Voxivo, Foehn will rely on G-Cloud to access local authorities, councils and smaller public-sector bodies that lack IT management resources and seek systems that are easily managed by existing supervisors and employees.

Voxivo’s dedicated management portal and user application offer simple and intuitive interfaces that make it easy to configure, change and update the extensive range of features on offer. The resulting improvements in employee engagement, support costs and quality of service delivered to the community has been proven with Foehn clients such as Boston Borough Council and the Local Government Ombudsman.

Rafael Cortes, Foehn Head of Marketing commented: “We’ve been accredited as G-Cloud suppliers for the past six years and have witnessed the improvements that have been introduced during that time.

"Now, with purchases worth £3 billion going through G-Cloud from more than 3500 registered suppliers, the platform has achieved an important threshold that secures its future as a driver of innovation and economy for public sector customers.”

The launch of G-Cloud 10 is positive news. The twelve-month delay anticipated last November, has been averted and the updated framework is now in action. Updates include the addition of cybersecurity as a category – a timely and needed addition that will appease risk-sensitive public-sector managers who have held back from cloud deployments for far too long. Other admin improvements help both existing and new G Cloud applicants renew participation and streamline the supply of information.

Rafael Cortes added: “Over the years, and for this tenth iteration of G-Cloud in particular, we’ve seen steady improvements in the platform, many focused on simplifying administration and procedures.

"This is good news for both the supplier and the customer and echoes our own core philosophy that seeks to remove complexity from design and operation of our systems.”

Devolution, restructuring and widespread service reform: from a journalist’s perspective, it’s never been a more exciting time to report on the public sector. That’s why I could not be more thrilled to be taking over the reins at PSE at this key juncture. There could not be a feature that more perfectly encapsulates this feeling of imminent change than the article James Palmer, mayor of Cambridgeshire and Peterborough, has penned for us on p28. In it, he highlights... read more >
