New apprenticeship league table launched by Gov
The Education and Skills Funding Agency has announced today (Mar 12) a new league table highlighting the Top 100 Apprenticeship Employers.
The rankings will look to commend some of the best apprenticeship employers in the country and help prospective applicants along with their careers advisers and families to find the best opportunities in England.
This will be broken down into the Top 50 SME apprenticeship employers whilst also showcasing the best large apprenticeship employers across the country, giving applicants a more focused set of data.
Rankings are carried out by independent assessors in partnership with High Fliers Research, who have the job of compiling the new national leader board.
Education Secretary Gavin Williamson said:
“Delivering high-quality apprenticeships is a vital part of our commitment to level up skills and opportunity across the country.
“This new league table is a chance to showcase how apprenticeships have transformed businesses and changed lives. There are hundreds of employers of all sizes, up and down the country, providing people of all ages and backgrounds the chance to learn new skills and have successful careers.
“This list will help everyone, from young people to career-changers, to make informed decisions about their future and unleash their full potential. I encourage all eligible employers to apply.”
The cross-industry league table opens today and will invite employers from every industry and employment sector. Entries need to be submitted by 5pm on April 9 before a follow-up interview with each entrant is carried out.
The categories are split into large employers, for organisations with 250 employees or more and a minimum of 25 apprenticeships and SME employers, with less than 250 employees and a minimum of five apprentices.
Results of the rankings will be announced at a launch event for apprenticeship employers in the summer of 2020.
