LU’s David Waboso becomes new president of APM

David Waboso CBE, director of capital programmes at London Underground (LU), is to become the new president of the Association for Project Management (APM).

Waboso will take over from Tom Taylor, who is standing down from the role after his three year term, in the new year.

Steve Wake, APM chairman, said: “We’re delighted that David has agreed to become our new president. The president is a figurehead and focal point for the profession. David joins with us in an exciting time for project management across all sectors.

“Especially in David’s own transport infrastructure sector where programmes such as Crossrail and HS2 continue to raise quality and success of project delivery, as well as its profile.”

Waboso is an internationally renowned engineer and project manager who, in his capacity as LU’s capital programmes director, currently manages a team of over 3,000 colleagues and a supply chain of 20,000 people, delivering on investments that make a difference to millions of Londoners each day.
