Cambridgeshire & Peterborough CA seeks new boss as CEO steps down
The chief executive of Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority has decided to step down in order to “move on to new challenges.”
Martin Whiteley led the combined authority since its inception to help deliver a “momentous devolution deal” for the region, which included a £800m funding package over the next three decades.
Mayor James Palmer, who wrote about the region’s devolution for PSE last year, said: “These two years have been crucial in getting our priorities and plans into place for delivery of our promises to the local community.
“Martin has now decided that the time is right to move on to new challenges and I wish him well in the future.”
The combined authority will now recruit a new CEO to take the organisation into “a new phase of accelerated delivery over the next few years.”
“This is an exciting time for Cambridgeshire and Peterborough as we gear up the organisation to meet the challenges of Brexit and continue to focus on delivering real outcomes for all our communities,” said Palmer.
