Innovate UK speakers confirmed

Speakers have been confirmed for Innovate UK, a conference held by UK Trade & Investment and the Technology Strategy Board next month.

The conference will provide multi-sector networking to help companies to accelerate growth through innovation, international trade and investment. It will be held from 11-13 March at the Business Design Centre in London.

Seminars will focus on transport and its impact on economic activity. The full agenda can be found here. Speakers include Gavin Campbell from Bombardier, Philip Blyth, director of the transport operations research group at Newcastle University and Tony Mallichan, head of transport consulting at Logica.

Iain Gray, chief executive of the TSB said: “Both Innovate and TechWorld have long established track records of individual success, so we’re really pleased to be uniting them under the single brand, Innovate UK.

“By inviting businesses across the UK to showcase their innovations and mix with experts in prolific technology innovation areas we hope Innovate UK will become an even greater show of the UK’s entrepreneurial might, on the global stage.”

Nick Baird, chief executive of UKT said: “Over the last two years, businesses that attended Innovate and TechWorld collectively generated over £70m worth of UK trade; 65% of them identified new business opportunities and 77% said they learned something that would help them to innovate.

“By bringing the events together we hope to deliver even more success for UK businesses whether by helping them grow through innovation, international trade and investment or collaborative opportunities.”
