ONS finds 73% of UK adults use the internet everyday

36 million adults in the UK were daily internet users in 2013, new figures from the Office for National Statistics (ONS) show. This is more than double the number of users from 2006, when comparable records began.

Research found 55% of adults now read newspapers online and 28% of people sold goods over the internet in 2013. 93% of 16-24 year olds use social media.

The ONS also reported that 53% of adults access the internet using a mobile, with less than 1% of households accessing internet using a dial-up.
