Time to Act – The National Social Value Conference 2020
The Social Value Act was implemented in January 2013, during which time many things have changed for the better. However, many organisations are still struggling to carry out requirements of the Act.
The good news is that real leadership is emerging across all sectors, with innovators delivering more and better value for their communities. Across the UK, we are seeing increased local spend, more jobs for local people, better skills, less crime, healthier communities and more volunteering.
The National Social Value Conference 2020 will bring together professionals from across the public, private and third sectors to share what works (and what doesn’t), explore new ways of thinking and promote more collaboration and innovation to deliver more for our communities.
Over two days, the conference will examine: How can the public sector be bolder? Is it possible for the private sector to do good? How do we unlock the energy of the voluntary sector? How do we embed social value into planning? How do we encourage social investors to engage?
Contributors include: Head of Policy CBI, Deputy General Secretary TUC; CEO, Durham County Council; Big Society Capital, Legal and General Investment; Head of Finance, Bristol City Council; Chairman, Sodexo; Office of Civil Society, Crown Commercial Services and the Local Government Association.
