Devolution to be hot-topic at LGA Conference
Everyone in local government, including the media outlets that cover it, are gearing up for what is likely to be an important LGA Conference this year.
Held in Harrogate from 30 June to 2 July, the event is expected to pull in more than 1,200 delegates and, according to the LGA, “will be an excellent opportunity to take stock and see how far the calls for greater local powers and devolution has come since Scotland's historic vote in 2014, the general election, and the move towards the ‘Northern Powerhouse’”.
However, if you are unable to attend this year’s event the conference will be webcast on the following URL: http://www.lga.public-i.tv
For those that will be in north Yorkshire the LGA annual conference app is now available to download:
- Search for LGA Events on the App store or Google Play (in the App store be careful to choose ‘LGA Events’ rather than the 2014 app, which is soon to be removed).
- Enter password mylga2015 when prompted.
