St Helens chief executive to step down
The chief executive of St Helens Council, Mike Palin, will step down next week following a decision to study for a Master’s in Business Administration.
Palin has held the role since January 2015 and joined with the aim to “build on the excellent track record of the council”
Leader of the St Helens council, David Baines, announced today that Palin will be stepping down on 27 September 2019.
He went on to say: “Deputy Chief Executive Paul Sanderson will be taking on the responsibilities in the short term, and steps will be taken immediately to begin the process of appointing a permanent successor.
“On behalf of St Helens Council, I would like to take the opportunity to thank Mike for his service and contribution to the borough since his appointment in April 2015, and we wish him well for the future.”
